Cheap Hunting Gear

Cheap Hunting Gear (Deer Hunting) – My Deer Hunting Gear List

Whether you’re a beginner or a novice at deer hunting, gears are a necessity and could make or break the hunt. Majority of hunters believe they have to spend a fortune for the best gears but I have a list of cheap hunting gears that I use regularly, every day when I’m in the woods. Cheap hunting gear does not always mean they’re poor quality gears. As a beginner, you may not want to spend a whole lot of money on expensive hunting gears, so looking at cheap hunting gear is a great option. Again, don’t get cheap hunting gear mixed up with bad or poor quality gears. Cheap hunting gear is only labeled cheap because of their price point, not necessarily their quality.

Cheap Hunting Gear List:

One thing I never skimp out on is electronics. You can purchase GPS used for really good prices on Ebay. A gps is a very important gear that I always carry with me in field. I mainly hunting on Public Land and sometimes have to hike in a good distance to get to my hunting locations. We all know that the forest looks and feels different especially when walking to your locations in the dark. And if you every get misplaced or lost, a GPS may be the only way you’ll be able to find a way out.

That’s when a good quality GPS comes in handy. It’ll direct you to your exact location precisely. The cheaper models may bring you a little close to your desired location but sometimes it can be way off. There are cheaper models that will work just fine too. It is all based upon your personal preference.

Garmin Oregon 600t

This Garmin Oregon 600t is the current GPS that I carry with me every time I go hunting. Dual-band GPS/GLONASS satellite positioning picks up satellite signal very quickly. It is run by 2 AA Batteries. It is a touch screen and multi-touch capabilities so it allows you to pinch to zoom in or out. Dual orientation allows you to switch between landscape and portrait views.

Garmin eTrex 20x

If the Garmin Oregon 600t is a little too pricey for you, you should take a look at the Garmin eTrex 20x. It is a very good GPS for its price point. It has HotFix satellite prediction and GLONASS support, so it can pick up your position very quickly too. It’s a manual control GPS, so you would have to use the knob on the top right to control and move around the map. Don’t let the price fool you. This Garmin eTrex 20x performs really well.

This mainly applies more to the bow hunters, so if you’re not bow hunting you can continue scrolling down to view other gears.

A rangefinder is a must-have for bow hunting, in my opinion. Bow hunting can be done without a rangefinder but you run a better risk of potentially wounding a deer or completely missing. As a bow hunter, our top priority is to get a clean & ethical shot to expire the game as quick as possible.

I currently use this Halo Rangefinder and I’ve been impressed with it so far. This rangefinder performs like a champ! It has a maximum of 600 yards to reflective target with 6x magnification. It also has Scan Mode, which allows the ability to range a moving object. The rangefinder has AI (angle compensation) technology that accounts for slope to the target so it’ll show you the degree of angle and let you know what yardage the animal is actually at depending on how high or low you are to the game.
